About the role:

The Operations Engineer is responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of the Ecedo and Gridhub cloud environments. Gridhub runs on AWS and Ecedo on Azure; the starting focus is the AWS landscape (with tunnels into Ecedo's Azure environment), and over time the role may extend to working across both cloud environments. The role owns everything from deployments, the creation of new tenant environments, and environment fine-tuning to reliability and further development of the underlying platform. You bring structure and ownership to work that currently sits informally split between development and operations, and you're the natural counterpart to DevSecOps: they build and deliver the pipelines, you execute them, understand the environments they run in, manage the integrations, and tune the underlying resources. The focus is product-focused cloud management: generic IT services such as IAM and PIM are owned by IT Support. 

You will report to the Team Lead Operations and work closely with DevSecOps and Application Development. 

What you'll do 

Cloud Operations 

• Own day-to-day operations, reliability, and fine-tuning of the Ecedo and Gridhub cloud environments — Gridhub on AWS, Ecedo on Azure — with the initial focus on AWS. 

• Manage and maintain the tunnels and integrations between Gridhub/AWS and Ecedo's Azure environment. 

• Monitor platform health, resolve incidents, and drive continuous improvement of environment stability and performance. 

• Advise on and support responsible, cost-efficient use of cloud resources. 

• Take ownership of the broader "supply cloud" landscape underpinning Ecedo and Gridhub. 

• Focus on the product cloud landscape; generic IT services such as IAM and PIM remain with IT Support. 

Deployments & Automation 

• Execute and manage deployments across the Ecedo and Gridhub environments. 

• Create and provision new tenant environments on Gridhub end-to-end — infrastructure via Terragrunt, DNS, tunnels and routing in Cloudflare, IAM users, secrets and configuration in Doppler, Kubernetes workloads, RDS databases, and deployment setup — following the established runbooks. 

• Partner with DevSecOps on automating environment creation as far as possible, so manual provisioning steps are progressively replaced by pipelines and IaC. 

• Run and maintain the CI/CD pipelines delivered by DevSecOps, understanding the environments they deploy into and the integrations they touch. 

• Automate recurring operational tasks to reduce manual work and improve deployment frequency. 

• Support further development of the platform alongside Application Development. 

Coordination 

• Work closely with DevSecOps on the split of responsibilities between pipeline delivery (DevSecOps) and pipeline execution and environment ownership (Operations). 

• Collaborate with Application Development to prioritize operational work and resolve issues efficiently. 

• Contribute to prioritization of the wider Operations team workload. 

Job requirements 

Tools you'll work with:

AWS, Azure, Terragrunt (IaC), Kubernetes, Cloudflare (DNS, tunnels, and routing), Doppler (secrets management), Datadog (observability), Aikido (security scanning), plus the CI/CD pipelines and IaC delivered by DevSecOps. 

What you bring 

• Solid experience in an Operations, Cloud, or SRE-type role, ideally in a production/business-critical setting. 

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS; working knowledge of Azure is a strong plus, given the cross-platform integrations between Gridhub and Ecedo. 

• Experience with deployment automation and CI/CD execution (you don't need to build the pipelines, but you need to understand and run them). 

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform/Terragrunt) and Kubernetes; familiarity with tools such as Cloudflare and Doppler is a plus. 

• Comfortable owning environment tuning, resource management, and reliability rather than just "keeping the lights on." 

• A collaborative mindset — this role only works well with tight alignment with DevSecOps and Application Development. 

• Experience with, or strong interest in, infrastructure that spans multiple cloud providers.
