About the role

At Eneve, we design software that helps energy companies manage complexity and lead the transition toward a more sustainable energy system. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial, hands-on role in designing, building, and maintaining our data platform.

This is a role for someone who truly loves data, someone who gets energy from data structures, SQL modeling, and building data platforms from the ground up. You will work extensively with Python and Databricks, owning the entire data warehouse landscape: from infrastructure and pipelines to deployments, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

You will operate as a one-army / solo data engineer, with full ownership of the data warehouse, closely collaborating with one Data Analyst who builds dashboards and reports for our customers. Your work enables critical processes such as customer integrations and migrations, accuracy and reliability are key in the work of the Data Engineer.

Our full data infrastructure runs on Microsoft Azure, and you will work extensively within the Azure ecosystem.

Main responsibilities:

Data Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ETL pipelines using Python and Databricks

  • Develop and manage pipelines for customer integrations and migrations

  • Ensure pipelines are robust, scalable, and production-ready

  • Work closely with Data Analysts to enable dashboards, reporting, and analytics

Data Architecture & Storage

  • Design and own data warehouse and data lake architectures

  • Model complex SQL data structures for energy data (connections, consumption, meter readings, customer data)

  • Build and maintain schemas, transformations, and storage layers in Databricks

  • Optimize query performance and data accessibility

Platform Ownership & Infrastructure

  • Build and maintain the entire Databricks setup, including:

    • Data warehouse

    • Infrastructure

    • Data pipelines

    • Deployment pipelines

  • Monitor data workflows and proactively improve reliability and performance

  • Continuously evolve and scale the platform as new customers and data sources are onboarded

Data Quality, Monitoring & Governance

  • Implement data quality checks, validations, and monitoring

  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and traceability

  • Define and enforce data standards and best practices

  • Ensure data readiness for downstream processes such as analytics, reporting, and billing

Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing workflows

  • Improve performance, cost efficiency, and resilience of the data platform

  • Automate processes where possible to reduce manual effort

What success looks like

  • A stable, scalable, and well-structured data warehouse

  • Reliable pipelines supporting customer integrations and billing processes

  • High data quality and performant SQL queries

  • Smooth collaboration with Data Analysts and business stakeholders

  • A continuously improving data platform that grows with Eneve

Job requirements

  • Strong expertise in SQL data structures and data modeling

  • Experience with Python for data engineering

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (or strong motivation to specialize in it)

  • Experience with data warehousing and data lakes

  • Someone who enjoys full ownership and responsibility

  • Curious, eager to learn, and happy to go deep into data

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with analysts and stakeholders
