Strategic Context

Eneve is entering its next phase of growth as a European energy technology and consultancy group. Alongside a strong software business rooted in EBASE and energy data processing, the Consultancy Business Unit is expanding into the UK, Germany, and Southern Europe.

As clients face increasing regulatory pressure, decentralisation, prosumer integration, and market volatility, they seek partners who can translate market developments into actionable processes, solutions, and implementation roadmaps.

Within this context, the Senior Business Consultant plays a central role in bridging market insight, business process optimisation, operating model design, and Eneve’s software capabilities. This role empowers clients to navigate complexity and supports Eneve in delivering higher-value, chain-oriented consulting services.

Role Overview

As a Senior Business Consultant, you play a central role in delivering high-quality advisory engagements, shaping solution design, and contributing to early product and proposition innovation. You act as a workstream leader and trusted client partner, ensuring that complex problems are translated into clear, actionable solutions.

You combine structured consulting skills, strong energy-market expertise, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across product, technical, and commercial functions. In this role, you own day-to-day delivery for moderate-complexity engagements, lead high-level design activities in sales cycles, and contribute to the maturation of early concepts and propositions.

You also play a key bridging role across the energy value chain—connecting market developments, business processes, and (Eneve) software capabilities (including EBASE and our data-driven energy platforms) to ensure clients receive both strategic clarity and executable change.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical rigor, client-facing and team lead experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Advisory & Engagement (Primary Responsibility)

Develop and Define Consulting Propositions:

  • Support the development of consulting service propositions by contributing structured analysis, reusable methods, and market insight to strengthen delivery quality.

  • Contribute to reusable consulting assets, frameworks, and knowledge-sharing practices that strengthen our company’s consulting propositions and market positioning.

Lead and Oversee the Engagement

  • Own daily execution of moderate-complexity advisory engagements or key workstreams, integrating cross-disciplinary expertise and maintaining a balance between delegation and hands-on involvement.

  • Plan and lead structured workshops and presentations for your workstream, ensuring deliverables are clear, actionable, and meet client expectations.

  • Ensure delivery quality and alignment of your workstream to the overall engagement plan.

Scope, Frame, and Design Solutions

  • Define the approach, scope and structure for your workstream or engagement, translating client needs into actionable TO-BE business processes and recommendations, guiding analysis, and supporting clients in adopting improved ways of working.

  • Plan and facilitate structured client workshops and presentations to validate requirements, explore challenges, and align stakeholders, challenging assumptions where relevant.

Execute, Facilitate, and Manage Relationships

  • Manage day-to-day client interactions within the workstream, acting as a credible partner who frames issues clearly, supports decision-making, and maintains client trust.

  • Ensure alignment between client expectations, engagement objectives, and internal teams, supporting senior stakeholders where needed.

Mentor and Develop Team Capabilities

  • Mentor associates and junior consultants by sharing expertise, providing constructive feedback, and fostering growth opportunities, while modelling consulting best practices and contributing to the emerging consulting culture.

2. Strategic & Consultative Sales Support (secondary responsibility)

Lead Generation & Qualification

  • Apply consultative selling to grow our value offering to customers, by cross- and upsell Eneve Consultancy services and software products.

  • Support Sales for moderate to complex opportunities by gathering client requirements, assessing solution fit, and helping qualify leads.

  • Support pre-sales discovery by connecting market shifts, such as regulatory change, decentralisation, or prosumer growth, to concrete solution opportunities.

Solution Concept & High-Level Design

  • Lead high-level design (HLD / Part A)for moderate-complexity engagements

  • Translate and refine client requirements into functional and technical solution directions, including taking existing strategic guidance or internal frameworks and translate them into actionable designs, defining scope, framing the solution, and ensuring feasibility and alignment with client objectives and internal capabilities.

  • Coordinate team contributions across client, product, technical, and consulting resources, bridging stakeholders from discovery through delivery to refine designs and ensure deliverables meet engagement requirements.

Proposal Development & Commercial Alignment

  • Drive preparation of assigned proposals, HLD documents, and Statements of Work, ensuring alignment with client needs and internal capabilities.

  • Contribute to commercial discussions as needed to support deal closure.

Closing & Handover

  • Lead client meetings, finalize proposals, and ensure a smooth handover to delivery teams for execution.

Optional Guidance During Early Implementation

  • Provide input to implementation or development teams where necessary to maintain alignment with the proposed solution.

3. Consulting and Software  Proposition Innovation (in collaboration with product management) – optional

  • Identify Market Opportunities & Strategic Needs

  • Support identification of product or proposition opportunities based on client conversations and observed market needs.

  • Shape the Concept & Define the Opportunity

  • Contribute to shaping smaller or moderate initiatives by clarifying the problem, refining the value hypothesis, and structuring initial concept inputs.

  • High-Level Design & Feasibility Assessment

  • Translate concept direction into early functional definitions, assess basic feasibility, and support business sizing.

  • Internal Alignment & Proposition Maturation

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales and Consulting teams to refine scope and ensure alignment with market needs and internal capabilities.

  • Pilot, Client Validation & Go-to-Market Support

  • Support validation activities, participate in pilot definition or execution, and help prepare materials for early client engagement or go-to-market shaping.

Profile & Competencies

Experience

  • 4–7 years in management consulting, energy-market operations, business analysis, or digital transformation roles.

  • Experience in Business Development and consultative selling to grow our added value amongst existing customers

  • Experience leading workstreams or moderate-complexity projects in a consulting or similar environment.

  • Proven ability in lead generation and qualification, and translate business requirements into TO-BE processes, solution concepts, and actionable recommendations.

  • Experience facilitating workshops, managing day-to-day client interactions, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Familiarity with high-level functional/technical design and scoping activities in a SaaS or digital-solution context
